Oct. 20th, 2016 10:29 pmMarie was supposed to be out shopping, getting the essentials - something that normally ended up taking the entire morning, but not even a half an hour later and not one part of the entire list purchased and she was cautiously opening the front door. Her heart beating fast enough that she was sure she could hear it in her ears and feel it.
After a crack that she would see from opened, she found herself holding her breath and peeking in as best she could.
No sign of anyone.
This was good.
Then she pushed the door open a little more before glancing over her shoulders to make sure she wasn't going to be snuck up on. Then she decided to "bite the bullet" and opened it wide enough to allow her inside. She took a couple of quiet steps, internally shuttering because she knew better than to do this, but she wasn't sure what else to do or how to explain what happened. It would probably be easier to let the kitten out of the bag and try to explain things once it became noticed - which that would take a whole five seconds - and she sighed. There wasn't any good plan she could think of besides being honest and hoping for the best.
"It's probably of the question," She thought, then she glanced down into one of the shopping bags she was carrying with her where a tiny striped kitten had been carefully hidden and was now pawing at her wallet, "but there wasn't any way I could leave the little thing by itself in this nearly freezing rain."
Then Marie took quick steps inside and shut the door.
"We're home..." Then she sighed. The little guy didn't have a name yet. "let's get you out and exploring, huh?"
Marie gently set the bag down and carefully reached in to pull the little kitten out. Then before it became overly alarmed she gently set him down and watched as he froze and looked around cautiously. For a little bit he stood there, nervously looking around, before cautiously sticking a paw out and then just as quickly moving it back.
